I work in product and operations. Mostly that means figuring out why something’s actually broken, not just patching the symptom, and building whatever it takes to fix it properly.
I’ve spent the last few years at BellaNaija sitting between insights, tech, and client service. If a problem doesn’t have an obvious owner, it usually ends up on my desk. I’ve built internal tools from scratch, tracked campaigns reaching over a billion impressions, and reported results to partners like the Gates Foundation, Google, and Nestlé.
The tools change but the approach doesn’t. Find the gap, build something small that actually works, keep improving it until nobody remembers there used to be a manual process behind it.
I’m formalising that instinct right now through product management study. The habit of finding the gap and fixing it has always been there, what I’m building is the vocabulary and the process to match it, writing proper specs, running discovery before something breaks instead of after, making the trade-off calls earlier in the process, not later.
Right now I’m at BellaNaija, running reporting and internal tools for campaigns most people only ever see the finished version of.
When I’m not fixing dashboards, I’m usually pulling apart some workflow to figure out why it’s slower than it should be.
